Solidarity

At lunchtime today I was called on to be official photographer at an event. 25th November is International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. NGOs around the world mark the day and use it to launch 16 days of campaigning activities to put pressure on governments to take action to end violence.

These photos are part of a solidarity campaign. Lots of photos of people holding supportive messages will be collected from as many countries as possible and then sent to refuges and NGOs that work with survivors of sexual violence in Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria. They are working tirelessly to get their governments to change discriminatory laws and provide advice and practical support to women and girls who have been subjected to violence.
