Another day goes by

If only @NewportRFC played for more than 40 mins

What a beautiful day for a basement battle game of rugby. I just can't believe how erratic my beloved team are playing. After 30 mins Neath were down to 14 men for the rest of the match, the game was surely ours, 18-13 HT. Would you believe we didn't score in the second half and only went on to lose 18-23.

I'm not one to question the players commitment, i know they don't go out there to lose. But one must question how much it hurts, how much that shirts means to them and how much they want to give to keep it. Is it a question that many players are not from around the area therefore the so called honour to play for Newport isn't that great anymore. Many players seem to move on if things are not going right instead of proving supporters wrong and striving to get better, to fight for the team, to gain respect from others. Don't get me started on the supporters, thats for another day.

Me for one find it important to see people hurt when things go wrong, to see disappointment in their faces, it shows you care, it means you will do everything to see it doesn't happen again, effort is everything. I also wonder if the players truly understand the effect it has on the community and the supporters, the true supporters who turn up week after week live with the pain and the glory, we can't or won't move on to another team like some players will, its our life sentence and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Please note this is not a dig at anyone, i will still turn up every week with my camera because i want to. I will support my team forever what ever happens, i will cheer and i will never boo. I will encourage when i can and will not put down.
