London, Awards and the Smith Commission

To London today for the Times Higher Education Awards. We're here as RGU has been shortlisted for an Award based on the quality of its student experience. Even to he shortlisted is great and we're looking forward to an evening celebrating universities across the UK.

Back in Scotland, today is the date of publication of the Smith Commission's report. From a quick read of the newspaper it seems airport passenger duty and income tax have made it into the deal. It'll be interesting to see these additional powers - if granted - change public policy in Scotland.
