Erstwhile

Erstwhile, a synonym for 'old' or 'former', describes this building up on the hill. This used to be a CBC broadcasting building. Like many others in this town, it sits abandoned, a remnant of more prosperous times. I like how the lichen is particularly striking on the rock with the contrast of the snow, and the sky is moody; a cloudy day with sunny periods.

I went out for a ride to enjoy the beautiful afternoon, and managed to get the four-wheeler stuck in a snow drift on the road, because I was looking elsewhere for things to photograph... at this building in particular. I wasn't concerned walking back to town for help, life is great. With some gruntwork and help from a friend, we got it free.
