"I cannot endure to waste anything as precious as autumn sunshine by staying in the house. So I spend almost all the daylight hours in the open air"

Nathaniel Hawthorne, Novelist (1804-1864)

How Dad would have loved to be in the open air on a glorious sunny day like today. Unfortunately, an ultrasound scan has confirmed that he has a blood clot in his left leg, which is now being treated with anticoagulant to disperse it. I am wondering if this will further delay him having the keyhole procedure at the Royal Brompton. Another problem caused by having already spent far too long in hospital. It's been four and a half weeks now. Dad has been so patient it's heartbreaking. How many more setbacks must we endure?
