Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Cabin cozy

All is well. The drive from Seattle to the Tsawwassen ferry was below freezing cold, but sunny and clear. The ferry terminal power was out - generators were being used and none of the food (or coffee!) bars were working. The ferry was on time and not very full (big surprise) but their coffee machine worked just fine. :-) The roads on Galiano Is. were great -only a tiny bit of ice that had been graveled. AND the boat motor started on the 3rd try, the wind was minimal, the snow covering all the docks was manageable and not slippery, AND our power on our island was on and the water ran! My kind of “adventure”!

I wanted an interior photo that shows how cozy we are inside even tho it was 40F inside when we came around 1:00 and a warm 32F (freezing) outside. The fire in the tulikivi soapstone stove will do a good job of warming the place up - but it takes 24 hours and 2 fires (another in the morning.) So we’ve got our long underwear and our Cowichen sweaters on, along with several other layers. Wanted to show the cold and snow outside but it was hard to get as the stove is in the middle of the room—there is a bit of snow on the railing on the front porch… this picture is about 3:30 PM - it will be dark in an hour…a bit of HDR (3 frames) enhanced it a little…but I would still like to see the outside better (and better focus) so any suggestions would be appreciated.. ......
