Blood Lily

This is a Hameanthus, common name, Blood Lily, from South Africa. I have many bulbs in my glass house, and I have over 40 flowers out at present. They come straight out of the bulb, and the 2 large broad leaves come out after the flowering. They are so beautiful with strong waxy like petals, and lots of yellow and white stamens. There stems are really speckled and remind me of crayfish legs!!
I was so surprised to see that at the Ellerslie Flower Show yesterday, they were selling the bulbs at $20.00 each - Show Special.
