New book

A wonderful new book arrived in our household today. It is a history of the first world war as reflected through a rural community - the north-west of Lewis. It is the product of a great deal of scholarly research and effort by Comunn Eachdraidh Nis (the Ness Local History Society). It is full of photographs and stories about the people from here who participated in "the Great War". I think it will be a wonderful source book for local history, both academic and informal, and everyone involved should feel proud of their literary achievement.
