Lyttelton Port and Quail Island

This is a familiar view for me, as I walk up to this spot most mornings. I am usually on the lookout for a more natural subject, but the port is an interesting place to look down on from here. There are often container ships unloading at the wharf on the outside of the harbour, but they never stay long. The ferry from Diamond Harbour, on the other side of the water, sails to and fro throughout the day.

Quail Island looks like a peninsula from here, but it is surrounded by water, although it is shallow on the far side.
