before starting the next Ian McEwan novel.

Busy day. Chatty-chappie came to clean the wood-stove and chimney - we learned a lot.

After that we went out to treat ourselves to lunch and run errands then home to watch an episode (or two) of Maigret - the Grenada version with Micheal Gambon in the title rôle. Then I went to an extended choir practice - three funerals in the next week . . .

Came home and Kathy was watching the BBC production of The Wipers Times. I think I feel a closer affinity with the history of WW1 as our neighbour and tenant in England was a veteran of that war . . .

I have yet to read more Rumi . . .
