Inside there are beams and mullions and a High Table and three long students' tables, and the food is excellent. And through that little dark door on the lower left is the Senior Common Room, where Lyra hid behind the sofa and listened to her father talk sedition with the Master, in Philip Pullman's Northern Lights. Tolkien ate here too.
