CannyScot's Day

By CannyScot

Excellent Bale Family (no, not Gareth)

A beautiful, bright sunny day but a very crisp 2/3 degrees C.

We had a nice lunch at Dobbie's Garden Centre and then headed for a farm on the Carnoustie to Forfar road where we saw this display of Bales representing Father Christmas with his sledge and Rudolph his reindeer. Apparently, Fleur Baxter, the Farmer's wife, had painted them and several others representing Minions from the Despicable films. They have become very popular locally, and it was a glorious December day to be able to see them.

Being footloose and fancy free, we continued on up to Murton Farm where, after a short walk to the loch area, we had afternoon tea. A wonderful day all round.

If you would like to see more of the Bale family and a couple of photos of the lochs see my Flikr set here. The Bales are definitely fun to look at.
