Living in Brabant

By AilsaR

Blue hour

We went to visit dad in the nursing home.

To see a loved one so desperately unhappy is very sad, although he explicitly told us not to be.

Later on I went for a walk along the river Tone, with camera and my thoughts. Dad loved this route.

Unexpectedly, I heard the cheerful sound of a blackbird singing. It was getting dark, and I couldn't see him a first, but I located him standing on the railings.

I stood about a metre away from him, and listened to him with dad's words in my head.
'Don't be sad, I've had a good life, but this last phase is not a good one'.

Song. For the good times.
