Posing!

Our mission this morning was getting the Christmas tree. That was done quite swiftly, so we set off for some fresh air at Trentham.

We usually see a heron or two but this was a real surprise. This youngster seemed quite happy to pose while I took photos. It was paddling in the water at the bottom of the weir at the far end of the lake, and didn't seem bothered at all by everyone walking past.

Back at home the Christmas tree is now sitting proudly (and hopefully securely) in it's stand, and I'm surrounded by boxes of decorations. I think a glass or two of sherry will help with my artistic skills whilst decorating it!!

Just noticed from the thumbnail, that we bought our Christmas tree on exactly the same day last year.
