Bear right

To Paddington Bear with EdiSteve. And what a delight the film was. I was a bit concerned about the design of the bear, but seeing him in action - and especially once he had the duffle coat on - he was perfect*. Everything about the film was just right, from the cast which included Ben Wishaw, Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Peter Capaldi and Nicole Kidman to the delightfully Poppins-esque version of London.

Afterwards we went to John Lewis to see the usual pile of Paddington plushes for sale, but they weren't there - sold out. Instead we had to pop to the cheap bookshop nearby to find these tat Paddington toys. Oh well!

* OK, the wellies were strangely absent ...
