Bee Hive Huts

Off to Slea Head at the end of the Dingle Peninsula, stunning scenery all around. Popped over a gate and through a field to a stone Cashel with three bee hive huts within, what a view those monks had when they took a break from their prayers! On the horizon you can make out the Blasket Islands.
There was a low tide at Slea head so we were able to walk on the golden sand there and watch the huge rollers coming in. Further around the coast at Clogher the waves were funnelled in to a smaller cove and they were enormous, walking along the coast we were soaked from the spray and photography was tricky. Finally making the most of the last bit of daylight we hiked briskly up to Ballydavid Head, the wind was ferocious but the view to Brandon Mountain to the east and Sybil Head to the west was breathtaking.
