Penguin Droppings

Stormlight

A day of heavy wintry showers.
Every so often, the low winer sun would peek out below the black clouds and illuminate the scene against the dark backdrop as it was here at Pan Ha', Dysart, this afternoon.

The tower is St Serf's Tower.
This tower was built around 1540 and although associated with a church was apparently built to serve also as a place of refuge and defence against the marauding English.

Until recently, it was possible to climb the stairs within the tower and look out over the parapets at the top. Sadly, that is no longer allowed on 'Health and Safety' grounds.

By the way, Yesterday's blip was indeed the view looking down through the fins of a radiator.
