Lake of molten gold

Jonathan had the day off, and we decided to drive up to Keswick and have a look at John Gravett's latest photo exhibition at The Theatre by the Lake. We drove through rain, sleet and hail, to find snow-covered mountains and sunshine. After admiring John's images we had our picnic in the car and then wandered down to the lakeside. We waited by the edge of Derwent Water as the light faded, getting colder and colder. What little colour there was came for a few minutes, but we took plenty of shots.

Then it was time to warm up in a pub before heading home. What a lovely Monday!
