Fiery

The sunset over Bute this afternoon looked a bit like a nuclear explosion, I thought - but I suppose that's exactly what it is, in a sense. These clouds overhead were particularly lovely, and just along the shore cormorants were drying their wings apparently oblivious to the cold that had us clenching our teeth as we walked into the slight breeze.

By the time we turned, having had enough of the kind of walking you might associate with riflemen on a forced march, the sun had gone and with it the wind. An hour later, the moon rose like a blood orange.
