Farewell

One of the blue roses from my grandfather's funeral today.

This flower would gladly be cut from its bush if only to provide one soul with comfort and joy. And with that, contentedness... totally fulfilled.

The irony of roses at funerals is that, like all organic material, in time they fade away. This picture in a way represents what this day of remembrance of him means. A glimpse; a moment captured before the passing of time withers us away. The good times we look back on, the memories of joy and love. My grandfather, like this rose, gave everything of himself for the sake of the happiness of others.

Fare Well.
