Yesterday this was a hole

Our previous builder was supposed to construct a ring beam as the foundations for the steelwork. However, he constructed the foundations in three separate sections, which did not join up and would not form a foundation for the walls which are yet to be built. One of the first jobs of our new builder is to rectify this situation by digging out the two gaps between the ends of the concrete foundation. He is doing this by filling the gaps with concrete and placing additional concrete above them to form an elevated, in these sections, base for the wall, effectively completely the ring beam structure. Yesterday this was a hole, today it is a concrete section just over 300mm wide and more than 1.5 metres deep.
