The Other Doctor

I make no apology for the fact that this collage could be classed as a complete cop-out.

Leejohnaire has scans done every 10-ish weeks and today was one of those scan days. We headed down to MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Texas Medical Center and hung around there for a few hours, as is our wont.

In between appointments, we were walking through one of the long walkways between two of the hospital buildings, and we came across the display of 235 Holiday Wreaths that are up for auction this year. Every Christmas, some of the talented employees create wreaths to be auctioned off to raise money for cancer-struck families in need. So my blip is a collage showing a small section of the walkway display and several of the wreaths.

There were a few Texas-themed ones, but by far the most common theme, with at least 20 wreaths that we spotted, was “Frozen” (which will come as no surprise to anyone who saw any group of children dressed up for Halloween this year)!

L’s favourite wreath was the Doctor Who one. It was a bit surprising to see it as Doctor Who is a relatively new phenomenon in the US, but has gained cult status among sci-fi fans. This wreath has clearly been created by a big (if not, long-term) fan as I noticed it even contains a small K-9! It’s currently going for one of the largest amounts of money, so I don’t think L will be getting it for his Christmas this year!
