Small Towns and Ham Sandwiches

The Boss had to take Suzz to the Suzz Service Santa. Well maybe that’s not completely grammatically correct but it sounds grrreat…YES?
This was in Cromwell about 30 odd (or even) minutes from Wanaka and as he was going to have to kill some time…..I have always wondered about this statement. It seems terrible violent and I am puzzled about how it would actually take place without the good Dr and his Blue Phonebox…..Oh well anyway I went too and at check in he let slip that he was going to take “THE DOG” for a walk.,. Now just a cotton picking minute. “THE DOG”….That’s as bad as “The Wife” which would get him a thick ear so there will have to be growls about this later…Right.
Ahhh…where was I...YES. There was this lovely lady “Yo” who showed immediate interest in the K9 aforementioned and wanted to see it, me, etc.
So we met at the bark door of Suzz and she positively ozzed doginess so a big cuddle was in order before we went off.
Cromwell has a wonderful network of Greenways which are bits of dedicated grass areas for walking and biking that link areas of the town and The Boss discovered one as we headed to the river so followed it and it was there that another lady with a dog was walking towards us and when she was close said, to The Boss’s complete amazement “Tussock Tales”. It appeared that she is a Wanaka SeniorNet member and The Boss did not recognise her. Not surprising given how many turn up to meetings.
Right… well The Boss’s phone tinkled after a while so we returned to the SSS (see above) and The lovely lady, who by now was soaring in my favourites listings, confessed to The Boss that she had saved a bit of her lunch for ME.
“OH”, I thought The Boss will never allow this… BUT never underestimate the powers of ladies in Service Santas and HE DID.
So… A Blip was born and I now understand why The Boss likes Ham Sandies and small towns are so much fun.

Special barks to Yo for the pic above.

Silktrader Tussock of the lake.
