The remains of Ogmore Castle, nr. Bridgend.

It is thought that the construction of this Norman castle began around 1106. The castle was given to William de Londress and in 1116, he was forced to abandon the castle when the Welsh appeared in force. There is a lovely walk along the Ogmore river which has a set of stepping stones across it adjacent to the castle. Further along the river is the remains of a Benedictine monastery known as Ewenny Priory which was constructed at the same time as the castle.
