Double hulled Alia

Seen on a beach near Auckland. May just have arrived from Taiwan via Polynesia over several thousand years. Or maybe they have been living here for the past 800 years and just like the shape of the boats? We cycled past on our way to the Auckland Maritime Museum and a sail in a traditional Dory. It was a very nautical day. But nice anyway.
