Changes to the forums

Hi Blippers,

Firstly, we would like to introduce Andy. He's the new Community Manager here at Blipfoto, and it’s his job to make sure that you guys are looked after. If you have any questions, he'll be here to lend a hand.

Over the past few weeks we’ve been contacting you, explaining the improvements that we have in store for the site. If you didn’t get the email you can always look at the blog post from Joe, which explains why these changes are necessary for Blipfoto to continue to flourish.

After listening to your feedback over the past year, we looked at how we can improve the Blipfoto experience. We’ve listened closely to this feedback.

One of the areas that we looked at specifically was the forums. Whilst the forums are an important element to the voice of the community, they are also complicated and daunting to many users in their current form. Often finding the answer you need is like finding a needle in a haystack. This is probably why visitor numbers to the forum are so low.

So we are taking this opportunity to launch a new system that will host all of the communities’ questions and feedback. This collaborative area will be the “go-to” place for when you have a query, want to ask a question or suggest an idea to the Blipfoto community.

This means that the forums in their current state will close. And despite our efforts, the existing content hosted there will be unaccessible to the community after we migrate over to the new forum platform next week.

However, if there are any original thread topics that you would like transferred into the new system, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Andy on andrew(at)blipfoto.com and he’ll try to transfer them across manually. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to bring over the full content of every thread, but he will do his very best to help where he can.
