Happy birthday, let Christmas begin!

In our house we like to celebrate my husband's birthday before getting started on the Christmas preparations and festivities. So today was the day. The family got together to have some food before heading out this evening to see a show at the Spiegeltent in St Andrew Square. Before heading in, the children decided they wanted to have a shot on the skating rink. It was a bit of a rush, but good to see them skating round. There's a bridge where you can stand to oversee the proceedings.

Then on to see the show "Scotch and Soda" which we all enjoyed a lot. Acrobats, trapeze and musicians. As the children hadn't ever seen anything like it (no endless sitting through Billy Smart's Circus as a child for them!), they were enthralled throughout. There was one point during which the acrobat was hanging from the trapeze only by the very tips of his heels! Most impressive.

Great way to celebrate a birthday. I was just glad it was well received. Blipper Gingercatpix managed to take a photo. We were sternly warned not to take photographs of the show!
