Glasgow City Chambers - side panel detail

The City Chambers is an incredibly ornate and opulent building. This is the detail of one of the minor side panels. What is generally not alluded to in the tourist blurb is that it was built on the profits of slavery and tobacco. The amount of marble internally shows that they were obviously very lucrative businesses.
