Afiyet Olsun, Istanbul.

Eight of us colleague-friends (Art teachers & co) went to Beyoglu this evening to eat a fabulous dinner in a favourite restaurant, Antiochia. A tastebud experience, the cuisine is that of Antakya in Southern Turkey (close to the Syrian border) and is beyond delicious. Today's pic shows the entrance of the restaurant. The whole place is well, sepia and the light fittings look like enormous festive baubles from the seventies - but it all generates a very soothing ambience in this packed and popular place.

Nothing else worth mentioning about today except to say that it was dry and this afternoon was really warm and sunny and I kept meaning to go for a walk but got caught up in doing 'stuff' - including putting up a few (more) decorations. Trying to feel festive.

Happy weekend to all. Afiyet Olsun.

Afiyet Olsun = 'bon appétit" - enjoy your meal, may it do you good!
