A gorgeous Southland day

This is Southland as I always like to remember it - not the wind and rain and cold, but a beautiful Summer's day.

Everything is so lush and green on the old family farm and the sheep seem to be peacefully grazing.

Though it wasn't exactly peaceful this morning as my sister G had just weaned a couple of days ago. The poor lambs were walking round and round the paddock calling out for their mums.

Not surprisingly, the ewes were silent in a paddock 500 metres away, not calling for their children at all.

They must have been pleased that the kids had finally left home to go out on their own!
