A Christmas Tradition

Members of the Brass Band of the Aberdeen Citadel Corps of the Salvation Army play Christmas carols as part of this year's Holly Fest at Drum Castle.

This brings back childhood memories of hearing the local Salvation Army Brass Band playing carols down our street every year at about this time. They would stop beneath each of the lampposts, so we would first of all hear them gradually coming closer, and then watch out of one of our upstairs windows until they were playing in the pool of light beneath the lamppost right outside our house in the cold night air.
