An overcast, nor'westery day. It was quiet at the Waimakariri Gorge this morning. There were just a few fly fishermen waving their rods and waiting. The wind coming down the Gorge was warm and wilful, and laden with the perfume of honey and pine trees. The water level was quite low, but not at drought levels.
