Next step on the process of engraving is to apply a sort of varnish to the surface of a copper plate so a drawing can be scratched on it, exposing the metal. It will then be put it in an acid solution. The acid will corrode the areas exposed leaving the ones covered with the varnish intact. Today we prepared the varnish our selves by mixing the ingredients and applied it with the use of a lamp which burns it a little creating a beautiful flame.
