Road Kill: The brutality of life.

Out with hound junior at lunchtime today, I spotted this deer, just a few metres in from the nearby lane. It is a sad fact of life that wildlife and cars just don't go well together. And so often, as in this case, the poor animal isn't killed outright, but dies, hours later, of horrific injuries.

I've never been tempted to try 'road kill', and smelling this one, only reinforces that resolve.
