Off on One

Eventually.

[Backplip]

A train. A trip to Glasgow. A romantic evening with my darling wife.

Ah well, two out of three ain't bad.

A stuttering start to our overnighter; forgot the tickets for the show so had to turn back meaning we missed the train at Alloa. Managed to get to Stirling ahead of the train but the ticket machine was playing silly buggers and took ages to spit out the tickets. Felt a right pair of prats as we reached the train just at that precise moment the doors were shutting and the train began to pull away. There's nothing you can do to recover your air of suave sophistication as you're left at the edge of the platform puffing and panting with a suitcase in your hand. Still, another twenty minutes later and we were on our way.

A very nice dinner and then off to the theatre to see the excellent Slab Boys by John Byrne at a tiny wee theatre in the City. It was the last night of this and the performers seemed to be really enjoying it. That, and the fact that the audience seemed to made of mostly family and friends of the cast, made for a really relaxed performance with some nice extras thrown in.

Couldn't be ars*d dragging ourselves around any pubs after this so it was back to the hotel for the complimentary shortbread, some coffee and some telly.

God, I feel so OLD.
