Tall ship in my neighborhood..

This is a replica of the tall ship the Friendship built in 1796 and was registered as a merchant ship 1797 . She travelled the world trading for exotic spices, sugar and coffee, making 16 voyages to China, Java, Sumatra, Madras, London. Hamburg, Archangel, St.Petersburg, and other European ports. She was captured by the British in the War of 1812. The port of Salem was at its prime between the end of the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812.
The Friendship sits in Salem harbor, and is now a part of Salem?s maritime history and it museums. I will be showing more details on this ship in the following weeks.
