Astroturf, anyone?

Well, here's an idea, for sure. Astroturf laid between the tram tracks. Apparently, it deadens the noise that the trams make. I forgot to ask whether it works or not. What I was told (not that I needed to be told), was that the local council paid an arm and a leg of local taxpayers' money for it...surprise, surprise!
