Clematis cottage cat

Ros, Brenda and I drove down to Alnwick to stay at Clematis cottage for a few days. All was great when we arrived, but getting there was a bit of an adventure.

As I'm sure will have been well documented elsewhere on Blipfoto, Wednesdays weather in and around Edinburgh was pretty atrocious - so it took us 2 hours to find an open road out of the city.
We tried the A7, but road was closed 'cos of flooding (flooded area had a car floating around in it). We then tried to get on the Peebles road, but got turned back at Penicuik 'cos of deep snow and lorries getting stuck there. (That was pretty scary!)
Eventually got on to the A1 (which had been closed earlier in the day) and thereafter had a pretty smooth journey.

Anyway, Clematis cottage was lovely, though initially a bit cold. (improved when we got the long fire going).
Within a few minutes of arriving the owner's cat came to check us out.
