Dad

This is my dad, he's 77 & has dementia.

I take him out on Thursdays. Unfortunately he has severe cataracts in both eyes & is profoundly deaf, both things waiting to be sorted on the never ending hospital lists.

He likes to go to Waterstone's, even though he can't read any more, because he gets confused & he can't see, we sit in the coffee shop & he talks about when he could see & the books he liked to read. Then I tell him what books there are that we will get once he's had his op. Because of his dememtia, he can't remember what books we've looked at from one week to the next, perhaps this is a good thing?

As the kids are off we also went to Parkgate for a walk & ate chips on the harbour wall.
