Truly Inspired!

My wife, myself and a friend yesterday went up to San Francisco to visit the "Edinburgh, Inspiring Capital" yacht that is part of the Clipper 09-10 Round The World Yacht Race. Over the last few days, 8 of the 10 boats are in SF, one is still on its way, and the Irish boat had problems and did not start this leg from China to SF.

The "Edinburgh" boat started out in second position, but has dropped back to 6th due to mast damage during some pretty wild storms. Note the mast is missing in this pic - is being repaired and will be replaced tomorrow. Those were 35 long and trying days for the crew but they are all in great spirits and having the time of their lives.

We attended a VIP reception to welcome the crew to SF last night and got to hear many of the stories. They were given a warm welcome by local GlobalScots, Heriot Watt alumni and Edinburgh University alumni.

Made us so proud to be from Edinburgh to see them here in SF and flying the flag for Scotland!
