it makes itself at home

The Parents are Arrived.

Luckily we were sufficiently advanced in the cleaning of the flat for me to be able to go and collect them from the station a full hour before I expected them thanks to my dad not telling me that they had in fact bought tickets for an earlier train than the one originally chosen.

After a couple of hours' worth of tea, biscuits, coffee and chatspeak we're off to see Day Watch at the Cameo. Hopefully everyone will stay awake considering it won't finish until after 2am...

Hmmmm. Definitely much more highly-budgeted than the first instalment and it's mostly been spent wisely - rather than the usual few-big-action-sequences the CGI is well-spaced out and of tolerable quality. Most of the original cast are still present (not that this was of any help to Mother who apparently fell asleep whilst she was supposed to be swotting up on Night Watch the other weekend). There's a "previously in..." segment at the beginning if you haven't seen the first one though a few references later in the film are not explained (unless the subtitles missed some subtleties) by anything except a working knowledge of Night Watch.
My dad was probably the eldest present (a significant proportion of the audience were black-dressed and oddly-bearded youths) although he claims to have enjoyed it.
