Industrial detritus

After yesterdays 9-miler we decided to head for the great outdoors again. Primarily to enjoy the sunshine but also to put in some more distance as training for getting ourselves fit again & ready to tackle some hills.

We did an 11.5 mile circuit through the forest between Aberfoyle and Kinlochard. About halfway around the walk there are piles of old pipes removed from the system piping water from loch Katrine down to Glasgow. The picture shows some of those pipes with Ben Lomond in the background.

The whole round took us 4 hours with a 25 minute break for lunch plus various photo stops on the way. Not bad considering this is only our second distance walk of the Year.
