Maisie

Oh my poor girl. Maisie has been through the wars as seen in this blip. Last week she started to keep scratching her neck and on further inspection we found a large open wound. We kept an eye on it for a few days but it was getting worse so she was taken to the vet. Formal normal animals the vet is terrifying but for Maisie, the feral kitten, this was not an experience any of us wanted her to go through.

Nonetheless she went to the vet and they diagnosed the wound as being self inflicted due to long claws on her back paws. She got the once over and the vet found that two of her teeth were split in half therefore she'd need to get them removed the next day. This explains a lot as she has never really crunched biscuits etc since we got her 2 years ago so as you can imagine we all feel awful for not clicking sooner.

Yesterday after much hiding she was taken to the vet to get her neck shaved to removed excess fur to avoid further irrational, 2 teeth removed and 3 sets of jabs. The poor wee mite. She hid from the minute she came home (approx 3pm) until 6am when she woke me up this morning.

She's spent the whole day hiding under my bed only venturing out for food and the odd cuddle. She's still terrified and I think it will take a long time for her to get over this.

Believe it or not she's actually happy in this blip as she's licking her lips after her first meal in days.
