My Finger

I'm not much of a MACRO photographer but friday afternoon at work in the lab and thought i'd try a Blip using the stereo microscope. This is the nail of my middle finger.
Stereo microscope uses reflected light to observe surfaces and as microscopes go has low magnification. This is the lowest magnification and can only just get something recognisable to photograph.
It's amazing how ugly things often look very close up. I photographed one of the roots of my hairs on my hand, but the image just looked too unpleasant to inflict on an unsuspected audience.
