Prague Day Four

This is probably the most photographed thing in Prague. Everday on the hour, people gather with their cameras at the ready waiting for the last chime of the bell which starts a procession in the upper windows of busts of the twelve apostles. At the side of the clock, the skeleton of Death tolls his bell and shows by an hourglass that time is up for hs Turkish neighbours and the figures of Vanity and Usury opposite, all shaking their heads in disbelief. The windows shut, a cock crows and the show is over.
