The wave

I decided to take the dog, the camera and a book of Ruth Dallas poems to Owhiro Bay today. The sea was incredible...almost alive with energy. I took so many shots it took me forever to decide which to use.

This is the last verse of "The Wave to Come" by Ruth Dallas:

Ask no further question, listen to waves
Breaking on sand content with their motion and sound
Until I am cleansed of all desire to know
The meaning of life and death; it is still too soon.
Listen to waves on sand until my silence
Is like the listening shell that hears as well
As the voice of the vanished wave, the wave to come.
