Interesting find!

I went out today looking for some interesting flowers or birds to shoot when I came upon what I think is a moth. At first I thought he was a flower but upon closer inspection I realized it was actually a very colorful bug.

As luck would have it, I had my macro lens with me so I was able to take some good closeups of him - I was torn between this shot and this one - but I think the one I posted here is more dramatic.

Update! This is not a moth as I thought but is actually a female Orange Tip Butterfly - odd thing is near as I can tell, their range does not include North America...
