Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus trees are found all over the Bay Area, but they're not a native here. In fact, they're controversial and have been blamed for the spread of wildfires due to their oil and messy litter. But others point out that many animals have made eucalyptus forests their home, including the seasonal monarch butterflies. It's an ongoing controversy, but it's still a lovely plant.
