Going back to my roots

Today we had a day trip to France with a difference. We visited Brancourt le Grand in Aisne. This is where my maternal grandfather's family have been traced back to the 15th Century. We saw the family name in its French form on the war memorial and we found nine tombs with variants of the name on them in the town cemetery. We didn't see anything readable before the 19th century. This photo is of one of the tombs.
