Day 5 - Chenonceau and Vouvray

Pain au chocolat for breakfast. Headed to a nearby town for their Tuesday market... which consisted of two stalls...

Slightly disappointed we headed south-west to the chateau at Chenonceau - a fairytale creation spanning the river. Very popular place, so big crowds accompanied us, but it was well worth seeing. Picnic lunch of ham baguettes. Stopped at the small town of Vouvray on our way back for more wine tasting. Our host spoke perfect English and happily showed us 5-6 different wines, describing each one and asking us what we thought. Walked out with another 10 or so bottles... definitely a theme emerging for this holiday.

Sun still shining so dinner outside again on the patio, yet more boules and yet more Scrabble (undefeatable on the latter so far). No internet, four dodgy French TV stations - makes for a very restful holiday literally 'away from it all'.
